Time

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace." -Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

"Everything is beautiful in God's time." -Ecclesiastes 3:11

"Saints have pasts, sinners have futures."

Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That’s why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.” -Rick Warren

"1 Corinthians 15:1-11 / Luke 7:36-50

People who have had near-death experiences often talk about the whole of their lives racing past their eyes at high speed, with all the joys and sadnesses that inevitably go along with such an experience. But the truth is that most of us, at least those who are still looking inward, have regular flashbacks to earlier days in our lives. And some of those flashbacks are not very happy. Too many false starts and abandoned good works, too many hard words that could never quite be taken back or erased from the common memory, too many days or even years wasted on nothing in particular, nothing of value.

The weight of the past, especially its mistakes, can bear down very heavily upon us as we grow older and more aware of what is true and what matters. And that’s the very feeling that St. Paul is describing within his own heart in today’s epistle reading: “I persecuted the church of God (and) I do not even deserve the name (apostle).” How many times across his later life had Paul felt the need to make that sad admission and to ask for the pardon of the community he had so deeply wounded!

But Paul, and all of us as well, should draw comfort from knowing that the whole point of Jesus’ coming was to bring reconciliation to even the worst of us and to set us on a new track that is life-giving, not life-wasting or life-stealing. We can’t change the past, but with God’s help, we can heal its sad memories by using well His gift of the present!" -Kuya Angelo

"Would you rather live your 70 or 80 years of life on Earth having fun, and 100,000,000 years of torture in your afterlife, or would you rather live your 70 or 80 years of life on Earth under the weight of burdens and sacrifice, and 100,000,000 of eternal happiness?" -Isaac Guevera

"God isn't going to let you see the distant scene. So you might as well quit looking for it. He promises a lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know He leads us and we will find grace to help us when we need it." -Max Lucado

"

In Paul’s letter to the Church in Ephesus, observe how he describes himself — an ambassador in chains. Locked away in a prison, Paul adamantly refuses to allow his circumstances to dictate or alter his identity. He may be in chains, but he remains the Lord’s ambassador.

Can you imagine Paul chained up in that dungeon, throwing up his hands saying, “That’s it; it’s over; I’m finished!?

Not on your life! Instead the apostle grows bolder as an ambassador; not intimidated or ashamed, because Paul isn’t chained in his Spirit, he’s only bound in the flesh. Remember how he concludes his letter to the Philippian Church declaring, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Don’t allow yourself to be defined by your past, or “chained” by your current circumstances. God has also called you to be an ambassador for Him. With so much work to be done, we ought to be growing even bolder, right in the midst of our trials and tribulations!

Ephesians 6:19-20 and pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." -man-of-god

Gardening

"A lesson in Gardening; I will give you what you need

Dear one, you have poured out your heart to me for those you love and for your own needs. You long to see visible tangible answers to your heartfelt prayers. When you don't see change, you wonder if I am at work. Sometimes you doubt my care. I have such a glorious lesson to teach you. Just as a seed planted in autumn is thought to be dead throughout the cold winter until the coming of spring and the bursting forth of new life, so it is sometimes with the hidden work I do. In my good time, your answers will come, joyfully and miraculously. Be patient, dear one. I am at work even now.

Faithfully yours, the Lord God"

Voice

"But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says 'Do not be afraid'
And the voice of truth says 'This is for My glory'
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth."

Spiritual Maturity.

"Spiritual maturity is never an end in itself. We grow up in order to give out."

"The mature follower of Jesus stops asking, "Who's going to meet my needs?" and starts asking, "Whose needs can I meet?" Do you ever ask that question?"

A Connection.

I was typing up a post recently, and I had a lot written (it's actually the post right below this one), but when I tried to publish my post my internet went down and I lost (or so I thought) everything. And it was weird because just as I was about to think to myself "Oh... well I guess I'm just not gonna post it up then..." I realized and connected it to my spiritual life right away.

I realized that when an accident happens, like say I sin, I give up so easily. Like everything is too late now because I feel like I just erased/lost all my hard work. But even though an accident had happened, the wisdom God has given me is still there and its just up to me to stand up and retry again.

Anyway, after fixing my internet I just went back to recreate the post because I found it true how I give up so easily and to my surprise, everything was there back again.

It just reminds me that even though accidents may happen, I have to stand right back up again because God is still there.

He's never given up on me, why should I?

God bless,

-Gabriel

Service

"A saved heart is one that wants to serve."

"We don't serve God out of guilt or fear or even duty, but out of joy, and deep gratitude for what He's done for us."

"This is what we're to do. We are healed to help others. We are blessed to be a blessing. We are saved to serve..."

"You're not saved by service, but you are saved for service."

"...they welcome new believers by saying 'Jesus now has a new pair of eyes to see with, new ears to listen with, new hands to help with, and a new heart to love others with.' "

"Jesus came "to serve" and "to give" - and those two verbs should define your life on earth, too."

"Study without service leads to spiritual stagnation."

"If I have no love for others, no desire to serve others, I should question whether Christ is really in my life."

"If you're not involved in any service or ministry, what excuse have you been using? Abraham was old, Jacob was insecure, Leah was unattractive, Joseph was abused, Moses stuttered, Gideon was poor, Samson was codependent, Rahab was immoral, David had an affair and all kinds of family problems, Elijah was suicidal, Jeremiah was depressed, Johan was reluctant, Naomi was a widow, John the Baptist was eccentric to say the least, Peter was impulsive and hot-tempered, Martha worried a lot, the Samaritan woman had several failed marriages, Zacchaeus was unpopular, Thomas had doubts, Paul had poor health, and Timothy was timid. That is quite a variety of misfits, but God used each of them in His service. He will use you, too, if you stop making excuses."

"Holy living consists in doing God's work with a smile." -Mother Teresa

"We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love." -Mother Teresa

"If you can't serve God, how can you serve anyone else?"

"When God nudges you to do something, do you answer like Gideon? "But Lord...I don't know enough Bible verses to tell my friends about Jesus..But Lord...I'm not smart enough to talk about creationism in my science class...But Lord...I'm not enough of a leader to start a Bible study at school" Like Gideon, do you focus more on yourself and your weakness than on God and His strength? You know, it doesn't really matter what you can or can't do--all that matters is that God will be with you, and He can do all things. So go for it." -via randombeliever

"You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into wonderful light." -1 Peter 2:9

"Do not come to me when you are strong and ready to serve, come to me when you are broken, willing to offer yourself to me." -God

"By choosing to serve, we are choosing not only to change our own lives for the better, but we are also choosing to help change others’ too. That’s why true service cannot be achieved without love." -via Nikki Dionsio

"Who were we to complain about the work God would have us do for His kingdom? who were we to demand that He put us in a different place? who were we to tell the Lord that this work wasn’t meaningful enough, this work wasn’t accomplishing enough? Psalm 84:10 says “better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” — we are to be DELIGHTED to simply hold the door in His house. If all we did in our lives, every single day, was stand at the church door and open it up when somebody approached, that would be enough. because THAT would be the work He would have us do." -Jamie Delaine

"In our service, there will always be challenges, there will always be obstacles. In our service, we get hurt, disappointed, misunderstood, insulted, and at times felt betrayed. We felt alone, and at times we felt abandoned. Every time we experience all these things, we journey with our God in His sufferings. "Whoever wants to follow me, must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me." Following our God is always denying ourselves! Everything is really nothing, WE ARE NOTHING! It is always a challenge for us to say in the end like St. Paul, "I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith." 2 Tim 4:7. We're not saying that we don't fail, because I do fail many times and I have failed people, but what is reassuring is knowing that in our community people provide hope, understand who you are, love you no matter what and never judge you and so we have the courage to continue the journey. Together we will journey to heaven!" -Kuya Gelo
